NetMums raise huge amount for Noadswood’s house charities

May 7, 2016

On the 29th April Noadswood School, Dibden Purlieu welcomed Katie Betteridge, on behalf of Netmums, a local netball group, to speak to pupils about their fundraising efforts for the school’s four House charities; Macmillan, SANDS, Cancer Research UK and Rainbow Trust. Katie organised a 12 hour netball match with 23 local Mums and raised a fantastic £2,870. Katie said “We were so proud to finish and excited to smash our £2,000 target. The support we were given by friends and family kept us going and the feeling of elation stayed with us for days.” Cheques were presented in assembly by the four House captains to representatives from each of the charities. Alice Dewsnap-Smith of Macmillan said “It is great to see Noadswood raising money for not one but four charities and seeing the pupils inspired to fundraise themselves. We are delighted that the pupils in the Anderwood House have chosen us as their charity this year.”  The pupils, led by the newly-appointed prefects, have now been set the challenge to come up with fundraising ideas so they can match the donations raised by the Netmums.
