Poetry Slam World Champion Harry Baker visits Noadswood

July 19, 2016

The highlight of this year’s Literary Festival was Harry Baker, who wowed his audiences of Year 8 and Year 9 students. He created a buzz around the school with staff feeling privileged to have a visitor of Harry’s calibre visiting, after he had just returned from the Emirates Literary Festival in Dubai and touring the Far East.

The students were spellbound by Harry’s clever wordplay, humour and originality. Harry a maths graduate, who excels in alliteration, with his rap style poetry interspersed with puns, presented inspiring and highly entertaining motivational workshops. Harry’s message was to allow your talent to shine through, and not to let others put you off achieving your ambitions.

Harry will also be appearing at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival and his book The Sunshine Kid is available now.
