May 16, 2017

Over the last two academic years, Noadswood D of E has successfully seen four expedition teams each year complete their Bronze awards. With a national completion rate of 50%, Noadswood are exceeding the national targets with 100% completion of Bronze awards. During the last two years, young people have volunteered 416 hours which in social value equates to £1,609.90. Volunteering has included helping to run sports clubs both in and out of school, working with local youth groups including Scouting and Girlguiding as well as volunteering in local charity shops, libraries and with peer reading.

Last week, pupils attended the New Forest Presentation to receive their certificates from Hannah Snellgrove, winner of the GBR Laser Radial National Championships and member of the British Sailing Team.

Last summer the four expedition teams successfully navigated around the New Forest, including wild camping with the Forestry Commission and presented projects on how to survive D of E to the headteacher Alex Bernard.
