MBE George “Johnny” Johnson the last surviving Dambuster inspires pupils

June 21, 2017

On the 12th of June, the last surviving Dambuster in Britain came to visit Noadswood School to give Year’s 8 and 10 to anecdote his sensational experience as a Dambuster He revealed his account of the story telling us about his personal opinions of the raid and first hand tales. We learnt about what happened on the night of the raid and training beforehand. For a brief amount of time it felt as if we had gone back to World War II and experienced it all for ourselves.

It was a great learning experience and we are all thankful to have been given the amazing opportunity to listen to his unique tale. One Year Eight student said “It was an incredible experience to listen to his phenomenal story.”
