Children in need workshop

November 23, 2017

Another successful day for Noadswood School in Dibden as 30 media students impress with their reporting skills. During the last week of term Michael Wray (BBC Cameraman) and Victoria Fritz (BBC weekday reporter) paid a visit to Noadswood for a day to show some lucky Media students how to make their own news reports and support Children in Need! Two teams of students raced against time to produce their own news broadcast at the end of the day, which was complimented by nerve-wracking live performances from pupils in the newsroom. Noadswood’s students were complimented by the BBC team and the end results were impressive. This was the first in many Children in Need events hosted by Noadswood and the school raised well over £1000 for the charity by the end of last week.

BBC Camera operator Michael Wray remarked that “the Media students at Noadswood showed great creativity and a real potential to work in the industry” and that Noadswood were “were one of the best schools in terms of applied intelligence and self-determination”.

Media teacher Mr. Finn also suggested that “this is a great start to a new subject in the school, the results were really promising and positive work will follow”.
