Paris Trip

October 18, 2013

Sixty Year 8 students and six of their teachers embarked on a cultural awareness visit to France organised by the Modern Foreign Language Department.  With a packed itinerary, places they visited included the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame Cathedral, Sacre Coeur, Montmartre artistic district and a boat-ride up the Seine, culminating with a fun-filled day in Disneyland.

Students were encouraged to improve their language skills throughout the trip. For many students it was their first time abroad and their confidence and enthusiasm for the language grew.  Here are just a few quotations from the students:

“When we first arrived in Paris I felt my heart pounding with excitement”.

“I was frightened of the tower but I faced my fears and went up with everyone else to see the amazing heart aching view”.

“I loved sight-seeing all of Paris, going to the top of a skyscraper and overlooking Paris at night time and seeing the Eiffel Tower shimmer and sparkle at night!  I have enjoyed every minute of Paris”

“J’adore Paris! Every second was worthwhile! I would definitely recommend coming on this trip! Disneyland was fantastic”.

“Thank you so much to everyone who organised the trip, I loved everything!”
