Radio 1’s “Best Day Ever” competition is a good way to broadcast about Children in Need. Many teachers and a few pupils were involved in entering a 30 second video to Radio 1. Our own rendition of Megan Trainor’s ‘All About That Bass’ with Miss Fowler leading the music video, singing rewritten lyrics, Mr Stamp juggling at different points throughout and back-up dancers of other staff dressed as the Noadswood mascots.
The national competition was open to all UK secondary schools and the brief was to create a video through the medium of music to show a teacher bring original, creative, enthusiastic and proposing our school as the host for the “Best Day Ever”. The Prize was for Radio 1 DJs including Fearne Cotton, Danny Howard, Nick Grimshaw, Greg James and even Professor Green to take over the school teaching lessons, taking assembly, serving lunch and running a disco!
Our entry was successful enough to reach the national shortlist, however we did not make it to the final 3 to go to London and to perform and compete to win the prize. Everyone involved in the production, participating and performance of the video is to be congratulated on their success – well done!
