Dear parents and carers,
Following on from my previous update in which I detailed the upcoming changes to our pastoral structure, I am thrilled to be able to write to you with confirmation of the staffing of our pastoral team and subsequent tutor teams for next year, starting in September 2021.
As written in my previous letter - during lockdown one we made the decision to switch our vertical tutoring system, across to a horizontal one (having tutor groups consisting of all students from the same year group). We did this to ensure that we had the absolute best system for delivering quality tutoring and pastoral care throughout the school closure period but also upon the return to school and bringing our community back together. Since that time, we have continued to see and feel the benefits of having our students in these tutor groups and we have made the decision to keep this horizontal system in place. Additionally, to this then, we have also reflected on the leadership and management of our pastoral system and how we can really utilise our fabulous pastoral team to ensure that each student's wellbeing and progress is monitored most effectively, both as an individual and as part of a year group.
We are excited then to now confirm the Year Leaders, Assistant Year Leaders and tutors.

We are committed to our house system and each student will remain in their current house. The Year Leaders and Assistant Year Leaders will remain proudly cheering for the same houses as usual and we will provide opportunities for the children (and staff!) to meet as houses and enjoy events, competitions and fun as Houses, throughout the year. This remains at the heart of our school culture and day to day life.
Our pastoral team are currently underway with sharing key information about each student from the House Leader to the Year Leader. Whilst we understand this is a big change, we do really want to reassure you that should you have any worries or concerns, you are able to reach out to any of us, at any time. If your child and family have been particularly supported by a particular member of the team in their current role as House Leader Learning/Guidance, they will continue to do so, working with you and your child/ren as we transition across to the new system.
