Noadswood provides the equivalent of 227 meals to local food bank

10 December, 2018

We are very proud of our Noadswood year 7 pupils who helped create food boxes for our local Waterside food bank. This was part of their 25 things to do before Christmas initiative which sees year 7 pupils completing a number of tasks that see them getting fully involved in school life and contributing to our local community.  One such activity was to complete a charitable act for those within our community.  Our school donation totalled 73.3 kg.  This is equivalent to providing 227 meals for those in our local community. The food bank relies entirely on the good will and support of those within our local community. Over 90% of the food donated to Waterside Food bank is donated by the public – that’s why food donations are absolutely vital to their ability to give everyone referred to a balanced and nutritious three day supply of food. The use of food banks particularly within December is incredibly high and we are very proud of our year 7 students for showing kindness to others and helping local families in their time of need.
